Queensland will look a little different for the rest of this year’s State of Origin series.
The Maroons are synonymous with XXXX beer, but the iconic alcohol logo will be replaced on their jerseys for the second and third games.

The beer brand appeared during Queensland’s 16-10 win over NSW in the first game, with the logo appearing prominently on the players’ sleeves. But XXXX is abandoning its valuable real estate jerseys for Sunday night’s race in Perth and next month’s clash in Brisbane.
The name will be replaced by the Queensland area community postal codes – an initiative aimed at boosting Sunshine’s sense of pride.
XXXX director Chris Allan told the Queensland Rugby League website: “XXXX has been a proud Queenslander for 144 years and one of the things that makes it great is its communities.
“The Maroons end up on the pitch representing all the regions and we wanted to bring some recognition to that in the Origin arena.
“As you celebrate Origin this year, whether with friends at home or in the pub with a XXXX in hand, applaud the Maroons and all the cities in the state that fill us with that Queensland pride.
Queensland Rear Rower Kurt Capewell will wear his city zip code when he goes out to the Perth stadium this weekend.
“Charleville is where I started my rugby league journey, so it’s a real honor to play for the Maroons and wear the post code 4470 up my sleeve,” Capewell said.
“It’s a fantastic initiative and one that QRL and XXXX should be extremely proud of. “These communities are close to our hearts and are an appropriate tribute to the places that make this state great.”
