Reece Harvey – what if it happened at the British Masters I wonder?

Who you are? Reece Harvey, Banchef (Head Greenkeeper) at Arboga Golf Club, Sweden.

Marital status? Single.

Who is your hero and why? I do not have a specific person. but I would say that my family as a whole, all of them have had a huge impact on me to this day. I got away from them four years ago and have seen them sporadically because of work and Covid as well and I think that makes me appreciate them even more than I did.

What has been the highlight of your career so far? Work in some amazing countries and some incredible golf courses. The people you meet will be friends for a lifetime, regardless of the country in which you live.

If your younger self saw you now, what would they think? Wow I was getting fat even more. On a serious note, I think he would be very proud. I never really set goals for myself and I like to think I follow the flow.

Which celebrities attract you? Most of them know nothing of the real world except preaching from their ivory towers.

What job would you love besides your own?
The job I wanted to do before I started green guarding was forensics, so I guess that’s for realism. The other one would be a football manager, as I’m not bad at it on the computer.

What was the most embarrassing moment in your life? There have been many, it is not easy to limit it. I think it should be a short interview I did during the British Masters in 2016. We will leave it there.

Which is your favourite movie; There are some that I like. Interstellar, Secretariat, Happy Gilmore, Harry Potter (all). To be fair I could go on and on.

What scares you? I do the same thing over and over again every day, which is why I like the work I do.

What would your autobiography be called… and who would play you in the film? I do not have the imagination to find a title, but I would like to say that Channing Tatum would play me in a movie, but most likely James Corden with a beard.

Which is your favorite sport? It’s a reversal between football and golf.

What would you put in room 101? Lifelong politicians.

Which historical time and place would you like to visit the most? I would love to see the Vikings and how they lived.

Do you have a life ambition? Try not to have regrets.

Which three people, alive or dead, would you invite to a dinner party? Ricky Gervais, Amelia Earhart and Nikola Tesla. We would have a good time and maybe we learned some things.

What is the best advice they have ever given you? Sometimes you have to take care of number one (yourself).

What is your favorite piece of trivia? Banana is a berry and strawberry is not.

What is your favorite scent? Freshly cut grass. Or cooking bacon.

What three albums would you get on a desert island? Chris Stapleton – Traveler? Ed Sheeran – X and Zac Brown Band – The Comeback.

What is the strangest question you have ever been asked? Because we cut grass again, we just cut it yesterday. It’s hard to explain but funny.

What is your favorite piece of kit? The Air2G2, I think is awesome.

What three words would you use to describe yourself? Led, Beloved and Ignorant. The latter is probably about what is happening in the world, as they say “ignorance is bliss”.

What is the most useful thing you could say to a 16-year-old home / greenback? Just stay in it, it’s not easy, but you will get there. Travel too because it’s almost the perfect job to do and you can always go home.

What talent would you like to have? To be able to play guitar and sing.

Which law / legislation would you like to enact? Everyone around the world needs to learn sign language in school from the first year. With video calling, anyone can communicate from wherever you are.
