A pair of sweet inclusions

CARLTON has named two entries for Saturday’s home game against Fremantle.

After coming off the ground in the last quarter at about 14, Sam Durdin (knee) and Jack Martin (calf) have retired from the sidelines.

In his first game of the season is Josh Honey, who has been making steady progress in the VFL for the last month.

Having impressed in the final weeks of last season as a small forward who hit the score, a knee injury delayed Honey’s preparations for this season, but his four goals last week were his best performance so far in the VFL season.

Brodie Kemp will also pull the Navy Blue jumper for his third game of the season (one as an unused minor), replacing Durdin in a key defensive role.

Kemp performed admirably for Josh Bruce returning to the Carlton Reserves, limiting him to just three points after playing his role in the AFL team in Round 9.

There will be a double milestone for the Blues, with Jack Newnes playing his 200th game – 155 of them for the Saints before moving to the Blues – while Nic Newman will make his 50th appearance in the Navy Blue.

Lachie Fogarty is also on the sidelines after being sidelined in the final stages of last week’s race: he is once again in an emergency, along with Jesse Motlop, Will Setterfield and Liam Stocker.

Carlton’s medical sideline will be announced one hour before the bounce.
