The Dolphins have added another player to their roster for their first NRL season in 2023, signing former Queensland State of Origin center Brenko Lee on a two-year deal.
The 26-year-old will join the Dolphins from Brisbane.
It is the NRL’s sixth club since making its Canberra debut in 2014, having also played for the Bulldogs, Gold Coast and Melbourne, where it played in the club’s grand final in 2020.

“We are delighted to have signed Brenko for our NRL debut,” said Dolphins boss Terry Reader.
“He performed well at Origin level under our coach Wayne Bennett and also played in the Storm with Feliz Kaufusi and the Bromwich brothers, who will be at the core of our leadership team.
“Let’s not forget that he has also won a big NRL final.

“And most importantly, Brenko is from Brisbane, so he understands the history and success of the Dolphins in their 75-year history.”
The Dolphins have also signed Lee’s cousin, Edrick.
The announcement comes just days after Phil Gould toppled the game’s “amateur” approach to expansion.
Gould noted that when the GWS Giants were accepted into the AFL competition, they received a salary cap exemption as well as priority options.
“We have no plans to bring in a new team,” he told Nine’s 100% Footy.
