Logies star Lisa Wilkinson, TV morning critic, was hired as her lawyer by noon
Lisa Wilkinson hired a lawyer a few hours after appearing on national television and calling Logies’ speech “bad,” according to News Corp. Sophie Elsworth and James Madden.
Wednesday morning, Matthew CollinsPresident of the Australian Bar Association, interviewed by Seven Network’s Sunrise program and said it was a “serious chance” the authorities would consider charging Work Co-presenter Wilkinson with contempt of court after her speech in Logies on Sunday night, which later led to the delay in the trial of the man accused of raping a former Liberal executive Brittany Higgins.
Within four hours of appearing on the morning television show, Dr. Collins was invited to represent Ten Network and Wilkinson.

One of the top founders of the Judith Neilson Institute (JNI) accused the organization’s leadership of lack of transparency in granting grants and approved his benefactor’s plans to refocus on funding the base and investigative journalism, he said. SMH’s Zoe Samios.
Pru Clark, who moved her family from the US to Australia in 2019, said she resigned from the Institute after 18 months because she disagreed with the direction his leadership was taking. “JNI was the first sponsor organization I worked for and it did not have a leadership strategy,” Clarke said. “I was concerned about the lack of transparency and procedure on how the grants were awarded.”
During this week, The Sydney Morning Herald and The age have revealed unrest at the Judith Neilson Institute, the country’s largest charitable journalism fund. The four independent directors of the institute, including the former NSW judge and the president of ABC James Spiegelman, abruptly resigned over concerns about its funding allocation plans. And the executive director of the institute, Mark Ryanhas engaged lawyers in a dispute over his continued employment.

NBCUniversal of Comcast Corp. and Google Alphabet Inc. have emerged as top candidates to partner with Netflix Inc. and help the streaming company build a level of ad-supported service, according to people familiar with the matter, The Wall Street Journal’s Sarah Krouse, Patience Haggin, and Lillian Rizzo.
Netflix, which hopes to increase revenue by selling ads around its programming, is still in the early stages of developing the strategy and has explored a number of commitments in recent weeks.
A partnership with NBCUniversal would probably be exclusive, said people familiar with the matter. Comcast’s video ad unit, FreeWheel, would provide technology to help display ads, while NBCUniversal’s ad sales team would help sell ads in the US and Europe, people said.
A partnership with NBCUniversal would likely involve revenue sharing, and one question could be whether Netflix would guarantee a certain amount of revenue, they said. Linda Yaccarino, President of Global Advertising and Partnerships for NBCUniversal, would be a major player in such a partnership.

Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall are said to be splitting up
Rupert Murdochthe media titan, and Jerry Hall, the model and the actress, are getting a divorce, according to two people with knowledge of the decision. People would only speak anonymously to discuss a personal issue, report The New York Times’ Jim Ruthenberg and Benjamin Malin.
Bryce Tom, a spokesman for Murdoch, declined to comment. Hall representatives could not be reached for comment.
Murdoch’s divorce, his fourth, is unlikely to change the ownership structure of the companies in which he participates, including Fox News’s parent companies and The Wall Street Journal. The shares of the Murdoch family in the companies he founded are in a strictly managed trust. Murdoch separates voting rights in this trust with his four older children – Lahlan, Elizabeth, James, and Prudence – and has arranged them so that it can never be voted for.
